Alcohol Use Disorder – a condition characterized by the lack of control of alcohol intake, repeated consumption despite negative consequences, interfering with obligations, and tolerance and withdrawal symptoms development
At-risk Gambler – a person who is at risk of becoming a problem gambler but may also gamble recreationally through out their lifetime without experiencing serious negative consequences
Binge Alcohol Use – drinking five or more drinks on the same occasion at least once in the past 30 days
Compulsive Gambler – uncontrollable urge to keep gambling despite the negative and devastating effects in a person’s life.
Gameroom – a generally small establishment (usually the size of small strip mall store) with video gaming machine or slot machines where people can gamble with money like at a casino.
Heavy Alcohol Use – drinking five or more drinks on the same occasion on 5 or more days in the past 30 days
Illicit Drug – illegal drugs and the misuse of prescription medication

Pathological Gambler – a person who is addicted to gambling and is unable to stop gambling despite the negative financial, personal, or vocational impacts in their life
Problem Gambler – a person who is not yet addicted but whose gambling creates serious problems
Substance Use Disorder (SUD) – recurrent use of substance which lead to impairment and is accompanied my loss of control over the consumption of the substance.
